We are looking for a Business Unit Director (BUD) to a major pharma company. The objective is to grow market share and further develop the Swedish business unit (BU) . The future BUD has the overall responsibility for the marketing and sales objectives for the BU and for achieving these objectives within their own operating budget. The BU contains more than 40 employees with a turnover of about $ 70 million.
Priorities for the role include:
• Membership in the company management team securing a shared responsibility for the company business and procedures
• Responsibility for the BU sales, profitability and market share results in Sweden
• Day-to-day management of the BU operation
• Ensuring that the operation is well-positioned for future growth
• Managing the local team and regularly upgrading the organisation in order to drive results
• Developing competencies and adapting to the changing strategic vision and competition/environment
• Developing a sense of urgency in all departments and winning spirit
Profile
The ideal candidate has at least ten years of professional experience. The candidate will come from a current management role. The candidate must have significant pharma experience (fresh) as well as good people and change management and communication and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate has a college or university degree, preferably with economics or commercial concentration. A master’s degree and/or any postgraduate studies are welcomed and may be a distinction of the ideal candidate. Fluency in English and Swedish is a prerequisite.
